*PROGRAM SUPERVISOR*
Angels Unaware, Inc was founded in 1992 and incorporated in 1994 under the State of New York. Angels Unaware was founded as a human services agency dedicated to the ideals of a quality life for individuals with special needs who have Intellectual/Developmental disabilities.
We are committed to strengthening family functions through helping individuals to find opportunities to become more productive, thereby enabling them to contribute to their surrounding community. The process will include teaching and assisting parents to be the best advocates that they can be for children and adults with multi-handicapping conditions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervises assigned program and all direct support staff in the day-to-day implementation of program services. Helps staff meet high standards of performance, qualitatively and quantitatively for care of program individuals.
- Assures continuity of individual services and high standards of individual care; facilitates
individualized service planning and implementation of goals in cooperation with the treatment team. - Provides instruction and supervision to staff concerning residential habilitation, policies and procedures, program goals and objectives.
- Responds to and effectively handles emergency situations which may require flexibility of
both time and areas of assignment; - Communicates with Administration to ensure: conflict resolution, staff coverage
requirements, crisis intervention, Untoward Incident notifications and staff debriefing.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- 3-5 years OPWDD Experience
- Valid NYS driver’s license a plus.
- Bachelors/Associates and three (3) years experience or related combination of education
and experience. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to supervise others.
- Must be able to move about; ascend/descend stairways; observe, instruct and supervise
staff and individuals in all activities of daily living. - Ability to lift, transfer or physically assist individuals may be required.
- Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, industry, and an understanding of residential
habilitation procedures and compliance requirements.
